DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY STEPS IT TAKES TO GET A QUALITY PRESS BRAKE TOOL?
Let Me Walk You Through It!
- 1.Selection Of Raw Materials
How To Choose The Most Suitable Tool Material?
- For the manufacture of press brake tool, the raw material we choose is 42CrMo4
- Its main properties are high strength, high hardenability, good toughness, small quenching deformation, high temperature creep strength and high durability
- Choosing the right raw material is only the first step in making a good press brake tool.
- For the manufacture of guillotine scissor blades, the raw material chosen by VEOELL is SKD11.
- SKD11 is a steel with high wear resistance and toughness. Pure steel, good hardenability, good hardenability, small quenching deformation.
- The steel is softened by spheroidizing annealing, with good cutting performance and fine and uniform carbide particles.
- Blades made from it are very wear-resistant.
- The choice of steel manufacturers is also very important, which directly affects the quality of tools.
- Therefore, VEOELL also attaches great importance to material selection. Each batch of materials has been strictly inspected and has a quality inspection report.
- This also lays the foundation for the stability of our tool.
- 2.Material Forging
High Quality Tools Need To Be Forged
The forged steel parts will cause fundamental changes in the appearance and internal tissue fiber structure,as follows:
- Density increases, toughness increases
- Will not crack and break easily
- Stronger and more durable
Therefore,High quality tools need to be forged.
- 3.Rough Machining
What Is Rough Machining?
Rough machining refers to the products made of raw materials through simple processing or primary processing.
It is a preparation for semi-finishing and finishing, which facilitates faster and more convenient subsequent processing.
Rough machining generally falls into two broad categories:
- Rough milling
- Coarse grinding
- 4. Heat Treatment Method
The Principle And Function Of Heat Treatment
Heat treatment refers to the metal heating process in which materials are heated, kept warm, and cooled in a solid state to obtain the desired structural properties.
Process sequence of heat treatment:
- Annealing: the purpose is to uniform the structure and eliminate defects in the rolling process
Normalizing: The purpose is to evenly organize and prepare for the next heat treatment - Quenching: The purpose is to obtain a martensite or bainite structure, so as to greatly improve the hardness and wear resistance of the steel while maintaining the toughness of the core.
- Tempering: The purpose is to reduce or eliminate the internal stress of quenching on steel, or reduce its hardness and strength to improve its plasticity and toughness.
If you want to produce high-quality press brake tools, you must go through the above heat treatment process, and then we VEOELL have been doing this!
Our heat treatment method:
- DEEP HARDENING
- OVERALL QUENCHING
In accordance to the purpose, the tools will be laser hardened, through hardened or nitrated.
Our tool hardness range:
- Press Brake Tool 42CrMo4 HRC47-52、HRC54-60
- Shear Blade SKD11 HRC56-61°
Hardness can be adjusted according to application or customer needs.
- 5. Precision Machining
What is Precision Machining?
Unlike rough machining, the machines used for precision machining are CNC milling machines and CNC grinding machines. Because this is almost the last step of processing, its tolerance must be controlled within ±0.02.
We have 15 CNC machine tools.
Rough machining generally falls into two broad categories:
- CNC Milling Machines
- CNC Grinding Machines
- 6.Tool Segmentation
How Are Tools Segmented?
The benefits of segmented pressure braking tools are:
- Enhanced control: By segmenting the pressure, you can have better control over the braking process. This allows you to apply more or less pressure to specific sections of the brake, giving you greater precision and control.
- Improved safety: Segmented pressure braking tools can also enhance safety by reducing the risk of sudden or jerky braking, which can cause accidents. By applying pressure gradually and in a controlled manner, you can reduce the risk of skidding or losing control of the vehicle.
- Reduced wear and tear: By using segmented pressure braking, you can reduce the wear and tear on your brakes. This can prolong the life of your brakes and save you money on repairs and replacements.
- Increased efficiency: Segmented pressure braking tools can also improve the efficiency of your braking system. By applying pressure in a more controlled and precise manner, you can reduce the amount of energy wasted during the braking process, which can improve your vehicle’s overall efficiency.
Can be segmented according to standard or segmented according to customer needs.
- 7.Blackening Process
What is Precision Machining?
Considering the problem of transportation time (excessive transportation time may cause rust on the surface of the tool)
We have adopted two anti-rust treatments with double-layer insurance:
- Use blacking process to achieve the purpose of rust prevention
- Apply anti-rust oil, then pack with oil paper and plastic seal
- 8.Laser Marking
Laser Marking
- The purpose of laser marking is to create permanent markings on a wide range of materials using a laser beam.
- Laser marking offers high precision and accuracy, as well as the ability to create intricate designs and markings.
- Additionally, laser marking is a non-contact and non-destructive process, making it a safer and more environmentally friendly option compared to traditional marking methods.
Laser marking according to customer requirements.
We have our own brand and also support OEM.
- 9.Quality Inspection
Veoell is A Company That Focuses On Product Quality
Our quality inspection is divided into three stages:
- Size inspection
- Hardness testing
- Die Bending Test
- 10.Packing
The Last Step Before Shipping.
- We use wooden boxes for packaging to better protect tools and export transportation.
- Packaging can be customized according to customer needs.
